01 / Who

Character & silhouette

Spark is the restless one. While it waits, Spark bounces on springy knees and the ring slowly wobbles round; in a turn the whole body leans hard and the ring trails behind. The greeting is a curious tilt of the head and a blink. In the art direction Spark is the face of VELTRAIL — the orange sphere with a ring.

An orange sphere inside a horizontal gyroscopic ring, on springy knees and magnetic skates. The concept adds a crown of short spikes, a doubled glass ring on brass clamps, a black screen face with bar eyes and a white belly.

02 / Ability

Second dash

passive

In plain words

Every courier has a dash. Spark keeps two charges of it: spend one and the other is still there, and spent charges refill one after the other. There is nothing extra to press — on the touch controls the charges are the dots on the Dash button.

  1. When to use it

Chain both dashes to reach a dropped spark before anyone else, to close in on a rival who is carrying one, or to slip ahead and cover the teammate carrying a spark on the way to the receiver.

  2. Limit

No invulnerability; it does not cross walls or gaps.

From the 1.1 game data — may change.

  3. Counterplay

Once both charges are spent, Spark moves like any other courier until one comes back. Draw out both dashes first, then contest the spark.

Version 1.0 numbers — module Pulse Step

  • 2 dash charges instead of 1
  • each dash covers 3 m in 0.2 s
  • a spent charge returns after 4 s, one at a time

Numbers from version 1.0 as submitted on 6 October 2026. The plan keeps these rules for the hero; they may still change after playtests.

03 / In version 1.0 today

Already in the game — as a module

Version 1.0 has no Spark. It has the courier, and before every match you pick one of three modules. Pick Pulse Step and you get exactly this ability: a second dash charge. In 1.1 the module is planned to become a hero, with its rules unchanged.

Spark is not the spark

In VELTRAIL a spark is also the energy a broken pulse drops — the thing every courier picks up and delivers. Spark the courier is a different thing. The English hero names are still working names and may change before release.

Two dots under the Dash button: the player carries Pulse Step, so the dash has two charges — one is spent. The Module button stays grey because Pulse Step is passive. The rules are those of version 1.0.
