01 / Who

Character & silhouette

Lens is precise. It turns with almost no lean, and while it waits its lenses pulse in and out of focus. The ability focuses both lenses and draws a ring with rays on the floor, with a soft shimmer.

A stack of indigo discs with two optical glass lenses for eyes and a thin navigation arc. The concept exaggerates the lenses into huge binoculars with glowing white pupils, and adds two thin antenna ears and small round pod feet.

In plain words

Your own powered rail already makes you faster. Lens covers the places where there is no such rail: drop the field, skate through it, keep the tempo.

  1. When to use it

    On a stretch without your own powered rail — a bridge, or the approach to a spark.

  2. Limit

    It does not stack with a rail boost: the bigger bonus applies.

    From the 1.1 game data — may change.

  3. What it won’t do

    On your own powered rail the field adds nothing; it is for the gaps between rails, not for making the rail boost bigger.

03 / Where it fits

Built for the solo expedition

Expedition sectors are designed with bridges, jumps and long approaches where your own rail doesn’t reach yet. That is where Lens is meant to earn its place.

“Team speed” — but solo

In the 1.1 plans the role is called “Team speed”, but the expedition is a solo mode — in 1.1 the field would speed up only you. The rework may turn it into a purely personal boost.
